This caricature of Albert Holm, created at Greenbelt Plaza late in 1970, gives a humorous portrayal of his job with NASA’s Orbiting Astronomical Observatory-2.

The second photo shows reality. Albert Holm is sitting in the office of the University of Wisconsin in the basement of Goddard Space Flight Center’s Building 14. He is planning observations for OSO-2’s Wisconsin Experiment Package (WEP) using computer printouts. Nearly all operations of the WEP were carried out with scheduled instructions specified to the control center computers by IBM cards. You can see a stack of IBM cards on the table. In the adjoining control room, Wisconsin had a PDP-8 computer, a printer, and command-generating equipment. The real-time command equipment was only used rarely for observations that could not be obtained any other way.

He is holding a telescope in his hand and trying to tell someone by telephone
about a UFO and aliens who have just landed in front of him. TBD
