Aurora with her Aunt Alida Carlson, standing by a leg of a giant dala horse in the Swedish pavilion at the 1939 New York World's Fair.

Aurora's face had been damaged on the copy I took this image from, perhaps by someone writing on the back of the photograph. I tried to repair the damage by reflecting the lower part of Aurora's face about the vertical and lightening it. The result is not completely satisfactory.

The large poster or billboard behind them shows the 1940 Republican Presidential candidate Wendell Willkie (on the right) and his running mate, Senator Charles L. McNary of Oregon. Their slogan here is "Peaceful negotiation instead of conflict".

In Aurora's photo album this this photo is labeled "At the New York World's Fair '39".
