This page shows two images of the aftermath of the loss of Bob Paton’s hardware store. There is also the report printed in the Milwaukee Sentinel newspaper on May 3, 1958.

The first image shows the remains of the building shortly after it collapsed into the basement being excavated next to it. Luckily no one was injured in it. The second image shows work in progress to clear the debris. There is a Milwaukee Sentinel article describing the accident at the bottom of this page.

             a bulldozer clearing the debris. Several men are working in the
             hole and others are watching the work.
